"The mission of Lied Discovery Children's Museum is to provide a vibrant and engaging experience, through exhibits and programs, where children from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds actively participate in playful learning experiences that ignite a love of lifelong learning."
The participatory nature of the museum's exhibits and programs encourages interaction between child and adult, providing an opportunity for them to share a special learning experience through the joy of discovery. The museum is centrally located for easy access from all areas of Las Vegas, and is committed to serving children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds.

| Little Builders on display at Lied Discovery Children's Museum Little Builders, an interactive exhibition created and toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, is on display in the new Donor Gallery at Lied Discovery Children's Museum January 30 through May 9, 2010. Young museum visitors will be able to create, play and learn as they explore concepts of construction, motion and simple machines. |

| Light Up the Cultural Corridor with December to Remember! The Cultural Corridor Las Vegas presents its annual December to Remember event, celebrating the holiday season with cultural diversity, beginning with a day-long festival of family activities, art, music, food and fun on Saturday, December 5. The Cultural Corridor, located on Las Vegas Boulevard between Bonanza Road and Washington Avenue, is a nonprofit coalition of seven institutions: Cashman Center, Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Las Vegas Library, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, Neon Museum, Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park and Reed Whipple Cultural Center. December to Remember is the Corridor’s annual holiday celebration, a month-long program offering ongoing exhibits, performances, films, special events and hands-on activities that show how the diverse cultures of the world celebrate this special time of year. | Bean Bag Film Festival set for Nov. 21-22 Presented in collaboration with Kids First! Film Festivals, Lied Discovery Children's Museum will present a series of short films at the Performing Arts Stage on the first floor. On Saturday, Nov. 21, films begin at 11 a.m. and theme is Animals and Creatures. On Sunday, Nov. 22, films begin at 1 p.m. and the theme is Special Me. | Dias de los Muertos program returns Lied Discovery Children's Museum once again presents Dias de los Muertos, a month of cultural programming celebrating the traditional Mexican holiday, from October 10 to November 6. Dias de los Muertos, or "Days of the Dead," has been celebrated for thousands of years. Today it is celebrated on Nov. 1 and 2 in conjunction with the Catholic holiday of All Saints Day in Mexico and by Latinos in the United States with gatherings and reunions of friends and family to remember and pray for loved ones who have died. The museum's Dias de los Muertos celebration will last for nearly a month, featuring special workshops, an exhibition of ofrendas, and arts and crafts activities.
